I thought I'd put some pictures of the work done on Amanda's patio on the blog for everyone to see. Took three us two days, but I think it is a great improvement.

The two pictures above are before photos - hopefully everyone recognizes that!

Old bricks have been stacked for future use, a new 4X4 border installed, 45 bags of gravel base dumped and tamped, and 10 bags of sand spread to provide a level base for the bricks. The job supervisor, with tea in hand, surveys the work.

Peggy and Amanda using the wet saw. I really tried to avoid this activity eventhough they kept talking about how much fun it was.

Partially completed in picture one. I believe Amanda described this stage as being like a forced march - "Just picking them up and putting them down". Note how many bricks we had left from the original pile, only one full one there. The last picture is the finished job; there is a thin layer of sand on the top waiting for a rain before the final sweeping, so individual bricks are hard to see. Too bad we didn't do this several years ago so she could have enjoyed it more!
